Bursting with flavour
Recently I saw some beautiful imagery created for a local tomato producer.
It made me wonder how I would go about putting some life into it - animating something like this. I put some time into looking at how this could come together.
Above is the final look and a quick behind the scenes view. I wanted the tomatoes to look large enough that they could be considered to be the right or real size but to appear at that ‘real’ size coming out of the actual jar they would only come out two or three at a time - hardly looking ‘packed to bursting’ with tomatoey flavour!
So instead, I lined a group of tomatoes up behind the jar out of view below the floor - and out of view of the camera. This way I could create the impression that there were far more tomatoes in the jar than was actually physically possible.
Also, to help fill the floor with tomatoes, once they had dropped back down, I had another group of tomatoes waiting to be triggered, above the camera view, to drop at the right moment and ‘plump’ the visual out.
