           This is a project I’ve been dipping in and out of over time—one of those chances to explore something a little different from my usual work. Along the way, I experimented with a few techniques I wanted to better understand, including mocap, weight painting, rigging, and layering motion tracks in to refine the some cross over areas.
          &#xD;

           This was one of those 'what if' moments. I found some models created by Max Morozov on grabcad.com and thought it would be an interesting playground to pull them together giving it some pace and energy - animating them into action.

      <title>Earth Cycle rebranding</title>

           In the early part of 2025 we worked with Cameron Lewis at The Woodhorn Group and Emma Cooper at Recenseo to create a new visual brand and kit for Earth Cycle - one of the group’s B2C brands.
          &#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

           We developed a colour palette that continued with the natural subtle tones developed for the Woodhorn Farm brand but pulled out some bright highlighting colours too.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           A subtle leaf pattern was created and applied to 4 of the palette colours. This could be used in the new website and in packaging for future product lines (tissue paper perhaps).
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

           Although we weren’t designing any specific marketing communications, a need to sense proof what we were proposing was of course necessary and developing a look for the photographic imagery helped and was extended by the web development team - Superrb.
          &#xD;

&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div&gt;&#xD;

      <title>Bursting with flavour</title>

           Recently I saw some beautiful imagery created for a local tomato producer.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           It made me wonder how I would go about putting some life into it - animating something like this. I put some time into looking at how this could come together.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

I wanted the tomatoes to look large enough that they could be considered to be the right or real size but to appear at that ‘real’ size coming out of the actual jar they would only come out two or three at a time - hardly looking ‘packed to bursting’ with tomatoey flavour!
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           So instead, I lined a group of tomatoes up behind the jar out of view below the floor - and out of view of the camera. This way I could create the impression that there were far more tomatoes in the jar than was actually physically possible.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Also, to help fill the floor with tomatoes, once they had dropped back down, I had another group of tomatoes waiting to be triggered, above the camera view, to drop at the right moment and ‘plump’ the visual out.

      <title>Illustration for Sandown sea defences</title>

           This is the second project that we've worked on with the Environment Agency.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           After a successful set of illustrations were created for the Pevensey Bay to Eastbourne Coastal Management Scheme, we were approached by project lead, Emily Webster, regarding the proposed sea defence improvements for Sandown and Yaverland. Emily and the team required two main illustrations and several cameos. These would be supplied to their design team to create public consultation material - posters, online assets and other communication assets.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div&gt;&#xD;

           The final construction illustration was then adapted to show how the finished project might look after all construction works are completed (above).
          &#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The images made it easy to communicate to the local council team, local businesses and the public in a bright and positive way. The construction illustrations showed what impact the works would have on the promenade, beaches, and local businesses. The other images showed how the completed project would improve the look, quality and access of this popular seaside destination while improving flood defences for properties in the area.

      <title>Awash with green</title>

           The Baileycs office is lucky to be situated in lovely gardens with a huge variety of flora and fauna. The lashings of rain we’ve had means it’s been a bumper year for nature’s colourful spring and early summer carnival.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h1&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           We look after the gardens around the office with nature in mind. We don’t use weed killers of any variety and slug pellets are rarely used because we have frogs, newts and badgers who all seem to enjoy the odd snail or slug as a tasty snack
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           .
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           It’s a wild, plant friendly garden with the seed heads of many of the larger plants attracting goldfinches and bullfinches.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           We’ve also reduced the number of times the grass is cut  – probably just three to four times a year and nothing before mid-June.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           This has allowed more plants within the grass to flower. Some we knew were there but last year a common spotted orchid appeared – not rare but nonetheless we were pretty pleased. And this year we have two.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           If you have lawns around your offices try to reduce the number of cuts – keep an eye out for farmers cutting for hay and start then.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           It might not look like the advertising dream but you could be awash with green rather than just greenwashing.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           Over the past couple of years BAILEYCS has had the pleasure of providing creative support to The Aqua Stewardship Council (ASC).
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div&gt;&#xD;

           This is a good example of how Baileycs provides creative support to businesses by working with in-house design facilities and external creative teams.

      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           Simon Warren Creative introduced us to the ASC and we stepped in just to help out on some initial artwork and design. After that initial contact our input expanded into other areas.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Most of the projects we have worked on since have required video editing - either for exhibition or presentations. The ASC has an extensive library of video and other imagery that they can draw from to tell their story and it’s our job to pull these together with other elements to provide engaging and informative communication.
            &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           The ASC has an in-house graphic team that creates digital and print communications and some of the charts and graphs within these pieces will require repurposing. We rework and animate these items, laying them in over the video content.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        
            Although we can script and storyboard videos for clients the ASC usually provides an initial rough guide to script, along with reference to clips they feel would work - but, as with many projects, they were also open to alternative creative ideas.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           We bring those clips and elements into one file, create a rough voiceover and run subs in over the content. This helps to see where holes emerge or whether it’s realistic to get the content in to the timeframe.
           &#xD;

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div&gt;&#xD;

           With the ASC there are quite a number of stakeholders involved and they are spread out geographically. For this reason we mostly use Frame.io for amends allowing us to overcome timezone issues, but we can always use Teams etc to walk through it. Once we finalise the running order and content we can lay in the final voiceover and deliver with and without subtitles and, if required, in other social formats.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           The latest edit was for a presentation to the World Bank and feedback was very positive - which is nice!
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           It’s not all editing and animation though. We have also created the digital assets for a pan-Australian digital poster campaign, plus a small number of print projects too.
           &#xD;

      <title>Open the Doors</title>

            This is my latest bit of animation - Open the Doors. In the quest to increase my 3D knowledge base I create a lot of imagery and animations that rarely see the light of day so sometimes I dust it off and and pull it all together into some sort of story.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Over time, I have developed a lot of imagery and animation sequences that essentially represent a journey of learning, relearning and, well, more learning.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Most of this doesn't see the light of day. Sometimes this is because it's rubbish, and other times it's just because it doesn't really fit with anything or it's not commercial or I simply don't know what to do with it.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            This project was created using C4D, with the initial clips being rendered in Corona before transitioning to Red Shift at the begining of 2023. The figures and clothing were crafted in Daz 3D and animated using a combination of pre-made blocks and personalized adjustments to achieve a more natural walking sequence – including subtle eye movements, blinking, and hand gestures.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           These elements were then imported into C4D, where the scene was composed and art directed with lighting, cameras and materials to achieve the final rendered clips. From here everything was pulled together in After Effects.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            I think it's fair to say that I haven't made inroads into modelling - yet.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Commercial work that I take on tends to be with clients who have a product already and we need to render it out in some sort of setting so the modelling of objects isn't high on my list. There are so many amazing assets out there too. However, The doors and the locking devise I did create - I know, amazing right? (And just in case, yes I'm being sarcastic). I was going to animate the lock mechanism but hey, it didn't happen.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

            I used X-Particles by Insydium as the foundation to create the regrowth section of the animation.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            It was quite challenging to ensure that the particles emitted from the growing edge of the skin as it reformed around the body shape.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The use of a Boole in C4D, which essentially involves one object moving through another and concealing the union between the two, can create complications in an animation. As a result, I had to revisit and adjust the geometric positions on individual frames to ensure that they rendered correctly.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div&gt;&#xD;

            The regrowth sequence was cut up with an analogue style screen showing HUD graphics and a more graphic representation of the rebuild process (which was also created in X-Particles). This helped with the pace and interest. This was all cut together and timed to the 'Cyber Games' sound track.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

           Recently our client, the IOW Group, was looking to expand the number of partners they deal with to help promote and sell their products.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           They asked us to look into marketing assets to support this activity.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           There are several issues with partner programs. Businesses can waste a lot of time with prospective partners only to find that they aren’t suitable. This can be for a number of reasons: they aren’t established, they promise the world but don’t have the staff or funding to provide the required support for installation and support for the products, or in real terms, they simply aren’t motivated enough to sell the product. So, the process had to promote the new program and be upfront about the requirements necessary to become a partner.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           We wanted to create an identity and name for this so that it wouldn’t be confused with other partner programs.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Doing this would also help to provide strength and stability in the program: give it gravitas and make it something prospects would want to be a part of. A simple intersection device was created that tied in perfectly with the brand.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            We settled on Alloy as the name:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           combining a number of elements to create a substance that is stronger than the individual components pinpointed the partner program precisely and simply.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div&gt;&#xD;

           would need a number of social creative executions that could be dropped into social feeds over a long period. These could easily be rotated to help keep the message fresh and provide a carousel of messages that would promote different key points: market leading products, staff training, sales support etc.
          &#xD;

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

           Dedicated web pages would be required: one for what the IOW Group provides and the other for what was required to become a partner - along with a PDF brochure that could be downloaded for easy access. Pop-up banners to support the sales team, to promote Alloy at expos, was also a requirement
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The target was to get three new partners onboard in the first year. This may seem a small number but getting new partners onboard and trained takes time from an already busy team so this was considered a workable goal.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

      <title>Defending against the flood</title>

            We had the pleasure of working with Sarah Martin and Andrew Walker at the Environment Agency in Chichester and were tasked with creating 8 to 10 images that would be used as part of a wider presentation to help show the public different options and choices that could help protect properties along the Pevensey Bay to Eastbourne stretch of coastline.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Initial illustration reference provided by The AE were more traditional (a more typical arch/vis water colour look) although they were happy to go with something different. We pulled together an initial look and feel that was more contemporary in approach which was liked and helped get the project moving. Rough sketches were provided by Andrew and along with our own research initial roughs of each illustration were submitted and amended before creating the final illustrations.
          &#xD;

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

            We helped the client (busy with actual flooding in the area at the time) with research and this helped us get a greater understanding of the project and at the same time was really interesting.
           &#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;

            Finding out how Groynes are engineered and how they play their part in creating a beach that can help protect coastal properties was great, but I think the best part was the research into vegetated shingle.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Being interested in all things natural it was a highlight finding out about all the different wild plants that survive and can flourish if supported and left to grow in these harsh environments.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

            ﻿
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Encouraging the growth of these plants helps hold shingle banks together providing a natural barrier to the sea. This in turn means less use of large machinery (and less CO2 emissions) to move tons of shingles back to where it is needed. During the process we were also asked to layout the text and add branding elements - this would help to speed up the project which was on a tight deadline.
          &#xD;

           Much of the work we do is more design based but recently there have been more projects coming in that are image and illustration focused and this certainly continued with that trend.

            Working with The Woodhorn Group from March 2022 we were asked to create a brand for their new milk vending business that will now be going live September 2023.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The Woodhorn name is synonymous with the farm on which the Group is based and has been run by the same family since 1882.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            After several rounds of name creation, the client settled on Woodhorn Farm as the brand name - which has a strong local heritage that would also be unique to a wider audience as the brand grows across the UK south coast counties.
             &#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        
             
            &#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        
            The farm is 100% organic and prides itself on how that process looks after its cows, customers and the wildlife that shares those 1500 acres.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            We had already looked at several creative paths (that had supported some of the previous brand name ideas) but after several comparisons and tweaks we finalised on a mix of natural silhouette illustrations mixed with bespoke Woodhorn Farm photography.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           It needed to reflect the rolling down land, nature and also link with the Woodhorn Group too.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
            
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Baileycs created all brand elements and applied this to branded bottles, vending machine wraps, posters and banner communications. We also provided the design for the website and some social media elements.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

           It was great to catch up with MSP again earlier this year and create some simple, engaging animations of 6 key messages.

           Previously we helped MSP with pitch-side animations with their sponsorship of Bournemouth FC.

      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           With this project they wanted 6 animated sequences to highlight key messages - both in 1080sq and 1920x1080. To keep the project cost effective they also wanted reusable elements that the could bolt onto in-house communications.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           Along with the main animations we also created separate intros and outros, animated icons plus some transitions.

           This was a great project to work on and drew on all of our core skills - branding, design, copy writing, script writing, animation, print design, exhibition and web. Basically we did the lot.

            The IOW Group have been working on a ground breaking filtration system that would be launched to an international audience at SMM Hamburg - the leading international maritime trade fair.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h3&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h3&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            BAILEYCS was asked to create a teaser campaign that would provide initial buzz over the 5 weeks before the launch without showing too much of the product and then launch and post launch creative to use across social and other web comms.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h3&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h3&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

            At the briefing stage it was clear we needed to create a product name to pin the campaign on and then move forward with some concepts to see how it could come together.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h3&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Out of a group of names we settled on eQlyps (pronounced eclipse). Unique in its spelling and available as a stand alone domaine if required. Ideal for search result too. This provided a new unique edge to the well used expression about products eclipsing the competition.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h3&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

            It was important that competitors and prospects alike didn’t get a proper view of the product and the IOW Group wanted prospects to know that the only way they could see the new filtration system was at the show.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h3&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

            Using close ups of key and unique parts of the product we created imagery and animations with low light and subtle dark tones to create a series of space or inner space scenes. Slow, menacing dark. This would help to hide the product and create intrigue. More like a film release than a product. Like giant space craft slowly closing in on there target - in this case an eclipse.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h3&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           Key copy headlines

            We wanted short and menacing statements that would have double or hidden meaning and not give the game away. The whole product is about removing dirt, soot and contaminants from lubrication oil. Previous competitor products allowed these damaging elements to escape back into the oil. But eQlyps is about to stop all that.

      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;

            - still menacing but the hidden meaning is about the new fully sealed product that stops dirty oil contaminating cleaned oil.

           The pressure is increasing

            - unlike other backflushing filters this new product has a magnetically sealed pump which provides enough pressure to add in an MP centrifugal oil separator - its self unique to the IOW Group. This is a key USP. Resistance is futile - once dirty oil enters the centrifuge it will removal contaminants, dirt and soot down to 1 micron. These key messages formed the initial teaser campaign that ran across linked in and Facebook throughout August. On the opening of SMM we launched the product with
             &#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           It’s here. There will be no escape.

           The creative gave a view of the product through opening blinds, light streaming through. Still not giving the prospect a real view of what was being released.

           A comprehensive ‘How it works’ animation was also created which would be used across all digital media once the product was launch - from social to company website. This 4 minute animation provides the main support to all comms and provides all the key elements to draw in prospects through YouTube, and all other digital comms.

           Some of the frames from the animation were also used as stills for the website and the up and coming digital brochure plus we also created other imagery to support specific messages.

           Last Autumn we were lucky enough to start working with Millbrook Beds. We recently updated a 6o second animation we created that needed to illustrate how their new mattresses were made from recycled plastic drinks bottles. Not only are they made from recycled bottles but at the end of this mattress's life, rather than becoming landfill like the majority of mattresses it can be easily stripped down and recycled again, helping the environment and your conscience.

           New branding elements have led to the start of a global change in marketing materials for ADF Milking.

           After 13 years and following feedback from focus groups, customers in the field, and staff consultation, the ADF brand got an evolutionary refocus.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           New typefaces, new logos, new photography, and a more technical approach to some of the marketing communication have all helped to move the brand messaging forward. It has also been timed for the launch of InVent - a major new upgrade to the ADF system which improves cow comfort and milking efficiency.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Photography 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Milking parlours are messy, dirty, and can be poorly lit environments. ADF commissioned photography over a number of farm locations and we needed to gel all imagery together to create a cohesive look and feel.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            ﻿
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Light rays, bokeh, dust in the light, and flaring helped to brighten and give life to the imagery, while a warm, earthy tone was created to give it all a traditional look.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           People
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

           Farmworkers and technicians: people are at the heart of the key imagery. Using real people in environments familiar to prospects helps them engage with the product. It reinforces the message that it is trusted by people like them who face the same day-to-day challenges.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           Testimonials are also a key pillar of all ADF communication and over the 13 years we have built up many global stories that again tie into the everyday lives of the worldwide dairy farming community.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

            However, a scaled-back six-page teaser version has also been created for a more economical intro to the product aimed at entry-level prospects.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

           The new website for IOW Group went live a couple of months ago. Improved search results and client feedback make it another success.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The previous site had been built with Adobe Muse back in 2016 and by 2019 Adobe decided that Muse was going to be 'end of lifed'.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Although there was no immediate requirement to switch to a new site it was obvious that at some point in the future it was going to be necessary.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The new site needed to incorporate a segmented news section that could easily be updated by IOW Group staff and also provide access to the whole site so edits to content could be easily achieved. Facebook social media feed, better form function and an SSL cert were also added. The new platform enables far better and easier SEO which is helping the brand's visibility in searches.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           New people and environment-based imagery was created to use across the site helping to break up the product-based imagery.

      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           Samsung's 'unpacked' ad from 2016 was a great ad with a banger of track.

    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Perfect for a bit of storyboarding.  
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

            Rarely do we do anything as finished as this for a storyboard and to be honest this was a bit of fun to show what we can do against the back drop of Royal Blood's fantastic track used on the Samsung ad at the time.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Most visuals and storyboards that we do now are Mac ups with 2D vector graphics but it's still a valuable tool to make sure everyone - client and production team - are on board and singing the same tune. It keep everything on budget and on time. However there are times when the content of the project requires a more illustrative skill to visualise it.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           Our recent post 'Making waves' reminded me of the amount of work we have put in over the year to improve our skills in 3D, animation, and motion graphics. We felt we couldn't see out 2020 without creating a showreel that reflected the many stages in this process.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            So here it is, our end-of-year finale. It’s essentially a chunk of clips we created in-house over the year, bolted together to form a ‘Frankenstein’ of a title sequence. Call it a bit of Christmas fun.
           &#xD;

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           Why the name,

           ? Because none of it is! It's all 3D sequences rendered out over numerous nights and weekends - and no pixels were harmed in the making of this video!

      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

           Mind you, there are plenty of clips littering the hard drive that have been shouted at and abused for not being what we wanted them to be. But, as with so much in life, it’s a work in progress and this is more of a sketch pad of clips rather than a finished piece – so comments are welcome!

           As part of the sponsorship package, MSP Capital could also brand in-game pitch-side banners on the online game Football Manager.

      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           With matches being played in front of empty stadiums the normal crowds wouldn't see the branding and messaging from the terraces but only on screen. This made it important for maximum coverage to make sure branding was on show constantly to make sure it was in shot easily. So it was a balancing act between too much animation and not enough branding and just sticking multiple logos around the pitch. This is the first one of these we've put together - it was fun and delivered on time and on budget.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

      <title>IOW Group keeps on truckin'</title>

           Covid restrictions this year have meant many businesses reliant on exhibitions as a major part of their marketing strategy have had to have a rethink.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           For the IOW Group, targeting audiences through Facebook and LinkedIn over a three-month campaign, both here and in the US, is starting to gain momentum with the likelihood of extending this for a further three months.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           We built a new landing page for the campaign which included creating the above video and provided other image-based content.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           The video has also been used as part of the paid social campaign in the UK converting it to 1:1 and 9:16 to fit all formats. With 90% of the audience watching more than 50% the IOW Group is pleased with how it is performing.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

           Video is not only more engaging than still images it's also flexible and can be used in so many ways across multiple platforms.

      <title>Making waves</title>

           Earlier in the year I put some time into a 3D project that involved the sea. We bagged ourselves a superyacht and headed off into the sun.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

           In our quest to get more experience in the 3D and GFX we started to put together a scene - purely in a freeform jazz sort of way - which was, nice.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            As our thirst for knowledge grew, so did the scene and, to be honest, we ran out of steam on it. What we started off thinking was great, was not so great at the end of the process and some of the stuff we did near the end of the process wasn't so good as some of the stuff we created at the start!
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            We learnt tons but the project morphed so many times that it just sits there in a number of folders V1, V2 … V53 etc (you get the picture) and doesn't do anything now.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            As part of that process I like to take screen grabs of where I'm at and the images on this post are exactly that. So, pretty rough around the edges but looking back I still like some of the images.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           But as ever I wanted to create moving imagery. After a lifetime of static 2D imagery and graphics I force myself to make everything move. So rather than letting it sit on the shelf I thought I'd let it loose to enjoy some light. Below is a gritty look through what I would call a sketch book of images.

           Working with Idealogy's client ELeather we created the imagery for a teaser campaign promoting their new range. Idealogy provided the concept, BAILEYCS created the imagery and artwork.
